The right chair prevents back problems
Aktion Gesunder Rücken (AGR) is an interface between medicine and industry. It shows industry how to produce back-friendly furniture.
Many people spend a large part of the day sitting down, even though this is not what humans are made for. Whether in the office, while driving or at home in front of the television, we spend most of our time sitting. This often leads to back pain, especially if the seating furniture is not ergonomic.
Especially in the office, an ergonomic office chair is very important in order to prevent and healthy sitting back problems. After all, we spend a lot of our time in the office in a sitting position. An uncomfortable chair can not only cause back pain and tension, but in the worst case scenario, it can even lead to a slipped disc.
The Healthy Back Campaign (AGR)
The fact is, however, that you don't necessarily see the suitability of office chairs for your back at first glance. Only when it is too late, i.e. when complaints have already developed, do you notice that they are unsuitable.
For this reason, the Aktion Gesunder Rücken (campaign for a healthy back) has developed a seal that distinguishes products that medical experts consider to be back-friendly. Aktion Gesunder Rücken wants to provide information on healthy sitting and prevent the causes of pain. Furthermore, AGR offers therapy options and recommends specific back exercises to prevent back pain and slipped discs.
The aim is to prevent these health problems by ensuring that workplaces are ergonomically designed and adapted to individual employees in accordance with the latest scientific findings. AGR works with cooperation partners, including back training associations and medical professional associations, and passes on its findings to industrial companies so that they can manufacture ergonomic and back-friendly products.
